Killing Time with Game Design

I’d like to start with a giant disclaimer, I only said “Game Design” because it rhymes. What I’ve really been doing is playing with the 2d Orthello Framework and Texture Packer, both of which have free and pro versions. So the first thing I wanted to see was how Texture Packer works, I’ve heard a bunch […]

Coding in your browser

The semester is almost over and I’m playing with some Python in my spare time (In addition to Unity (XNA is on the back shelf, it looks lonely back there…)) in an online course at Udacity. More on that later in the month. I just stopped in to talk about how you can play around with […]

A quick and simple example(high score board)

The topic came up in Skype today, and I didn’t really finish the high scoreboard in a game I was working on recently, so I’ve finnished up and pulled together a few little code segments into a fairly vanilla script for Unity. So first off, if you didn’t know already, Unity lets you store and […]

QuadraJam

So I realized I haven’t really updated this site in a while, as I mentioned last post I’ve been working with Keith and Gabe(Zenas) on a sort of spiritual successor to the game we came up with at PGJ11. Since the three of us met at one game jam and made Mother(ship) at another we […]

Back in action!

I haven’t been doing any kind of coding for a few weeks, my part time job was partly to blame for it’s part in keeping me from my part. The rest of the blame is pretty much mine for watching anime and trying to play Minecraft(I keep trying to tell myself it’s just a level […]

Yar Har Fiddle Dee Dee!

<Pirate> Yar har fiddle dee dee! Being a pirate is alright with me, do what you want cuz a pirate is free! Yaaarrr a pirate! Anyone who says this is overused is obviously a Ninja, and thus untrustworthy. ;) </Pirate>

Summer-ho! Yaarr!

The spring semester is over and I’m trying to figure out what I’m going to do with myself. I have 3 projects I’m working on, Mother from the PGJ, and two I can’t talk about yet. ;) Still, I should have a little to play with something, maybe I’ll wrap up Laser Chase.

PGJ11 – Philly Game Jam 2011 Recap

Last weekend I was a part of the Philly Game Jam, hosted by Too Many Games and IGDA Philly. My team, Quadratron, made a video game, Mother(ship) in under 48. I was hoping to do a whole bunch of posts over the weekend, but maybe it’s for the best I didn’t. I have a high […]

Too Many Games!

Too Many Games starts today; convention, industry discussion boards, and The Philly Game Jam! I’ll be hanging with the jammers as part of team Quadratron, but I’ll try to find time to check out the other parts as well.

New toy!

I have myself a new toy, a Samsung Galaxy Tab. I’m really excited to try making an app for it! Not really sure what to do for an app/game though… Maybe after Too Many Games. I’ll make another post about that later in the weekend.

First Post, and Portfolio taking shape!

Whew, been a crazy semester for me but I finally found a moment to sit down and organize some of this stuff. On my portfolio page I’ve put up some of my old art and a couple of the games I’ve worked on. Now I just need to figure out which programming examples to put […]
